LOW MAGNESIUM BLOOD TEST LEVEL. What does magnesium deficiency mean?

Lower limit of magnesium test is 1.5 mg/dL (or 0.6 mmol/L).

Causes of magnesium deficiency include diarrhea, alcohol abuse, poorly controlled diabetes, excessive or chronic vomiting. It can be present with hypomagnesemia (but not necessary).

Some of the symptoms are dizziness, hyperexcitability, muscle cramps, muscle weakness and fatigue.
